You can make these adjustments in the Action Center, or Display panel in Settings. There are even options to set things up in the power plan your device is using. Below is a selection of four different ways to adjust the screen brightness on your device.

But before we get to that, several laptops make use of the F2 and F3 function keys to decrease and increase screen brightness. Almost all newer ones do, so be sure to check.

On the software side of things, though, simply click or tap on the Power icon in the taskbar notification area, and toggle between 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% brightness levels.

The Action Center also provides this level of control, and can quickly be used to toggle between these predefined brightness levels listed above.

Another way to accomplish this is via the first option in the System section of the Settings app.

Just make sure Display is selected in the left pane in this section of Settings, and you will see an option that says Adjust brightness level. Simply drag this slider left to go lower, or right for higher, and your display will correspond accordingly.

And finally, the good old Control Panel also provides this functionality.

You will have to open Power Options, where you will again find a Screen brightness slider that does the job for you, and does it well.
