However, you can disable the lock screen and go straight to the login screen in Windows 10 by following a few simple steps. These involve some registry edits, so make sure you are comfortable with the Registry Editor before beginning.

Hit Ctrl + R to bring up the Run dialog, and type regedit into the prompt and hit Enter.

If you receive a warning from User Access Control, simply click Yes.

Now, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows by opening the various folders in the tree on the left side of the Registry Editor.

Right-click in the pane on the right side, and create a new registry key called Personalization. It may already exist, but if not, simply create a new key and rename it to Personalization.

Navigate to this new key.

Right-click in the right pane again, select New and then DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Name the new value NoLockScreen.

And finally, double-click its name and set its Value data to 1, and hit OK.

After your next reboot, the lock screen will be gone, and you will be taken to the login prompt directly. If you want to reenable it, just change the above registry setting from 1 to 0.
