Windows 10 Tutorial: Set Up A Proxy

Gone are the days of older versions of Windows where you had to fiddle around with Internet Explorer panels to set up a proxy connection. Now you can do so throughout the OS level in Windows 10.

All from the Settings app, of course.

To fix various Windows 10/11 problems, we recommend Outbyte PC Repair:

To set one up, make sure you have your login credentials and all related information at hand.

Then go to Start, open Settings, and click on the Network & Internet icon.

Here, you should see Proxy listed right at the very bottom.

Selecting that should open up the following page with the usual automatic proxy set up that can detect settings, or the ability to manually set up a proxy connection.

In case of the former, just slide the Use a proxy server toggle switch to on, and then enter the IP address and port of your proxy connection. There is also an option to add multiple custom addresses for which the proxy server will not be used.

And finally, if you have a local intranet set up, you can select the checkbox not to use it for that.

Click Save to store all your settings, and Windows will now connect to the internet using the proxy connection settings you have just set up.
