Wi-Fi Sense feature lets you to connect to Wi-Fi networks and hotspots which your friends and contacts have connected to in past, even if you don’t know the password.

Similarly, your friends and contacts will join your Wi-Fi network when they are in range. They will be automatically connected to your Wi-Fi network without being prompted for a password.

You probably do not trust most of the people that are in your Facebook friends list or Outlook contact list and may not want to share your information with them.

For privacy reasons, you may want to turn off this feature or limit who you share your Wi-Fi network details with. Here’s how:

How to Disable Wi-Fi Sense in Windows 10:

  1. Open the Settings app, and click on the Network & Internet option.
  2. From the options on the left hand side, click on Wi-Fi option.
  3. In the right side panel click on the Manage Wi-Fi settings link.

  4. Turn off the toggle next to various options to disable Wi-Fi Sense completely or just disable Wi-Fi password sharing with your contacts.

  1. I cant see why this function even exists. If i want to share a network password i will tell the person i want to share it with. I most certanly wont tell a third party what the password is (or any password for that matter), who my friends are or who i like sufficnetly for them to share the password with on my behalf.
    I dont care if Microsoft promice not to “peak”, a secret shared is no longer a secret.
